Allen Bryan Shockley

February 26, 1931 — June 9, 2019

Allen Bryan (Bud) Shockley, 88, of Gainesville, Texas, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, June 9, 2019.

Allen spent his childhood, the son of a Baptist preacher and homemaker, Henry and Ina Mae Shockley, in Arkansas and Arizona. On July 2, 1961 he married his beloved, June Stone.

Allen was a hardworking man who after serving in the Air Force, retired as a Senior Oil Rig Engineer after 30 years of service at National Supply/Armco Steel. He loved reminiscing about his overseas trips in the service and his work and travels around the world for National Supply. He enjoyed spending time with his family, researching his ancestry, and connecting with many friends and family through Facebook.

Allen is survived by his wife, June Shockley; daughter, Cynthia McDaniel and husband Jim; daughter, Suzanne Russell and husband, Paul; daughter, Jennifer Coleman and husband, Ken; his grandchildren, Jeremy Gilbreath and wife Jennifer, Lauren Gilbreath and wife Melissa, Corey McDaniel, Libbie Threatt and husband Kyle, Zachary Russell, Carson Russell, and Duncan Coleman; great-grandchildren Jenna and Jaylee Gilbreath, Benson Hamilton, and Rylie Threatt; his sister Mary Sue Abercrombie and husband H. L.; as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ivan Shockley.

A time of remembrance and visitation is scheduled for 6:30 PM on Friday, June 14, 2019 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Dr. Jeff Langley officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Gainesville.
