Anita Louise Mcclain

A funeral service will be held for Anita Louise Nelson McClain, 77, of Gainesville, at 10:00 AM Friday, June 9, 2023 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.  A visitation will start at 9:00 AM.

Mrs. McClain, a longtime resident of Gainesville, passed away Friday, the 2nd of June, peacefully surrounded by her family.

Anita was born May 18, 1946 in Rockford, IL to Ford George and June Virginia (Loy) Nelson.  She devoted her life to Christ, her children, her grandchildren, and to her great-grandkids.  She was loved by many and will be missed.

Mrs. McClain is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Denny Huggins; son Stacy McClain; grandchildren:  Brittani and husband Todd Hess, Christine Eanes and significant other James Sasser, Paige and husband Brad Hellman, Meg McClain and significant other Justin Johnson, Caleb Winters, Andrew McClain and significant other Mariah Pursley, Allison McClain, David White, Misty Winters, Kalyn Huggins; many great-grandkids.  She is also survived by her brother Gerald Nelson; brother and sister-in-law and Curt and Denise Nelson.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jim McClain; sister Sharlynn Seipts; sister-in-law Darla Nelson.
