Marleys Ann (Parker) LaRue, 82, of Gainesville, TX, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 1, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Ann was born April 18, 1942 in Gainesville to Raymond Parker and Luola Huse Parker and was a graduate of Gainesville High School. She married Watt R. LaRue on July 18, 1959 at his parents’ home in Gainesville. They raised two children together, Dwight Lee LaRue and Bryan Raymond LaRue. Ann and Watt were happily married for 64 years.
Ann was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a deep love for animals and spent most of her life working as a groomer at Refinery Road Clinic in Gainesville. She also loved to travel with her son, Dwight, taking trips to various countries in Europe, including France, Switzerland, Germany, Scotland, and even as far as South Africa. Ann cherished her family and loved them dearly. After raising her two sons, she played a significant role in the raising of her three oldest grandchildren, Cory, Brandon, and Zachary.
Survivors include: her loving husband of 64 years, Watt LaRue of Gainesville; son Dwight LaRue of Lake Kiowa, TX; daughter-in-law Linda LaRue of Callisburg, TX; grandchildren: Cory LaRue and wife Amber of Weatherford, TX, Brandon LaRue of Durant, OK, Zach LaRue and wife Soha of College Station, TX, Brooke LaRue of Callisburg, and Wyatt LaRue of Callisburg; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Cathy Payne and husband Gerald of Sherman, TX; brother-in-law Mickey LaRue and wife Belinda of Rockmart, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ann was preceded in death by: parents Raymond and Luola Parker; son Bryan LaRue; and sister Francis Woolsey.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville. A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2024, at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville.
Recognized as honorary pallbearers are: Cory LaRue, Brandon LaRue, Zach LaRue, Wyatt LaRue, Nick Payne, and Michael Payne.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter, Gainesville.
