Anna Margaret Land

July 1, 1926 — September 11, 2021

Anna Margret (Dillard) Land, age 95, of Gainesville, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 11, 2021.

Anna, affectionately known as "Ann", was born on July 1, 1926, in Gainesville, Texas to Robert Lee Dillard and Jennie Matilda (Lillard) Dillard. She married Charlie H. Land on July 8, 1950, who preceded her in death in 1969. Her life was a living example of the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 – “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ”.

Ann and Charlie were blessed with four beautiful children, Evelyn, Charlie Jr, Robyn, and Jonathan, whom they both loved dearly. Together they were called into Christian ministry, where they started Gospel Missions for Christ, bringing the Gospel of Jesus to people in areas of Mexico who had never heard of Jesus Christ. Ann became a widow after a tragic accident in 1969. She continued to serve in the mission field and run the family business "The Burger Chef" for six years after her husband's death, before returning to Gainesville.

Ann would work for many years and then retire from Weber Aircraft. Never one to stay still long Ann returned to work part-time at the SAS shoe store until it closed then went on to work at The Sunglass Hut at the Gainesville Outlet Mall. She then enjoyed many years sitting for her grandchildren.

Ann was known by all as a devoted woman of faith in Jesus Christ. She was an amazing mother and grandmother. She enjoyed being involved in the lives of her family and cheering them on through life. Ann loved to crochet. Each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren have all been blessed with a crochet baby blanket from her. All who knew her knew of her love for her family and her unending faith in the Lord.

Ann is survived by her children: daughter, Evelyn Cameron of Gainesville; son, Charlie Land Jr and his wife Patti of Gainesville; daughter, Robyn Nantze and her husband Sam of Ashdown, Arkansas; son, Jonathan Land and his wife Linda of Flower Mound.
