Anna Lois (West) Strickland

Anna Lois (West) Strickland, 92, of Gainesville, TX, passed away March 17, 2018 in Gainesville.

Anna was born May 21, 1925 in Foreman, AR to Bill and Lanie (Johnson) West.  She was raised and graduated high school in Singer, LA.  Ms. Strickland retired from Fluor Engineering in Houston following 38 years of service.  She loved sports, particularly basketball and football.  Ms. Strickland was skilled in cross-stitching and also enjoyed fishing and visiting the casino.  Her greatest joy later in life was caring for her great-grandchild.

Survivors include: daughter Pamela (Strickland) Moran; son Jay Strickland; grandchildren: Marci Childers, Stacey Irvan, and Michael G. Strickland; great-grandchildren: Kailee Parker, Kort Parker, and Addison Finstead; sister Monnie Lutz; brother Murphy (Joe) West; and numerous nieces and nephews who were deeply loved.

Ms. Strickland was preceded in death by: her parents; brother John West; brother George West; sister Lillian Dooley; and brother Sammie West.
