Grady Armon Smith, 74, of Woodbine, passed away on July 29, 2023, in Woodbine. He was born on November 22, 1948, in Gainesville. Armon married Judy Spruiell on August 17, 1973, in Iowa Park. For over 30 years, he owned and operated Smith Feed Store in Gainesville and Marietta, OK. He cherished spending time at the lake and had a profound love for his family.
Armon was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Sylvia (Prestage) Smith, as well as his sister Jackie Selby, brother Shelby Smith, and brother Leighton Smith. Survivors include his wife Judy Smith of Woodbine; son Christopher Smith of Midland; daughter Jamie Winters (Brian) of Woodbine; son Steve Smith (Amanda) of Woodbine; grandchildren: Clayton, Caroline, and Cord Winters, Jack Smith, Caitlyn Winters, and Avery, Emery, and Lily Reiter; great-grandson Jaxon Montgomery; sister Kaye Eldridge (Joe) of Gainesville; sister Faye Young (Derol) of Marlow, OK; brother Paul Smith (Cheri) of Gainesville; sister-in-law Ginger Smith of Gainesville; and sister-in-law Janette Smith of Gainesville.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Gainesville. A committal service will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Woodbine. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. before the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
