Barbara Whitfield Mckinney

Barbara Whitfield McKinney, 71, of Gainesville, passed away December 22, 2022 in Gainesville.

Barbara was born on May 31, 1951 in Gainesville and graduated from Gainesville High School.  She began her career in the floral industry as a designer with Aughtry-Horn Flowers.  She then accomplished her dream of owning her own business, All About Flowers and More, which she operated for many years until her retirement.  Her greatest joy in life was being “Meme” to her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Elizabeth (Wyrick) Vineyard.

Survivors include: daughter Adonia Whitfield and fiancé Greg of Argyle; daughter Sharon Cowger and husband Jay of Callisburg; daughter Carrie Thomason and husband Travis of Gainesville; grandchildren Shannah, Shailyn, Auston, A.J., Ashlyn, Kiya, and Seth; great-grandsons Legend and Emilio; brother Skippy Vineyard; sister Patricia “Pat” Applebaum-Roys; and special friend Wallace “Wally” Malone of Gainesville.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2023, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
