Barbara Murle Reed

Funeral services for Barbara Murle Reed, 67, of Gainesville, are set for 11:00 AM Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Duke Dowling officiating. Burial will follow in the Perryman Cemetery in Forestburg at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 17, 2019 under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 7:00 - 8:00 PM at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
Barbara was born on August 9, 1951 in Bowie to L. C. McMillion and Willie Murle (Edwards) McMillion. She passed away in Denton on January 14, 2019.
Barbara graduated from Bowie High School in 1968. She married Ken Reed on May 20, 1972 in Sunset. They had 46 marvelous years of marriage. She worked for Haggar Clothing, and Fray Bryant. She was a charter member of the Grace Friendship Baptist Church in Gainesville.
She is survived by her husband Ken of Gainesville; son Robert Reed and wife Wendi of Dorchester; son Richard Justin Reed of Gainesville; grandson Jason Reed of Gainesville; granddaughter Alex Reed of Dorchester; sister Judy McMillion Smith of Gainesville; sister Carol Loerwald and her husband Don of Grapevine; sister Buffie Menge and her husband Dale of Decatur; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Southside Baptist Church.
