Barbara J. Roberson

Funeral services for Barbara J. Roberson, 84, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at The Fold of Grand Avenue with Casey Fain officiating.  Interment will follow at Era Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service.

Mrs. Roberson passed away March 18, 2021 in Hurst, TX.

Barbara was born December 26, 1936 in Hood, TX to Annie Eula Hughes and Charlie Myers.  She married Roger Roberson in Hood in 1957.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree in 1978 from College of Charleston and a Master’s Degree from Texas Women’s University in 1998, both focusing on Special Education.  Mrs. Roberson had a long and successful career in various fields of education.  She was a very active member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church and The Fold of Grand Avenue.

Survivors include: daughter, Kathy Roberson; daughter, Holly Roberson; granddaughters: Mackenzie Roberson and Jenna Roberson; great-grandson, Morgan King-Roberson; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and their spouses.

Mrs. Roberson was preceded in death by: parents, Charlie and Eula Myers; husband, Maj. Roger K. Roberson, USAF (Ret.); and son, James Clint Roberson.
