Becky Sides Solley

Becky Sides Solley passed away on December 15, 2020. She was born February 5, 1958 in Midland, TX to Benjamin and Wanda Sides, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving husband, Chuck Solley, her 3 children, Lisa, Bryan, and Brandon, and her grandchildren Zayn, Dylan, Skylynn, and Benjamin; she is also survived by siblings Carol Staggs and Charles Sides of Midland.

Becky graduated in the top 10 of her class from Lee High School in Midland in 1976, before attending Abilene Christian University and graduating with her bachelor's in education in 1978. She continued pursuing her education while raising 3 children and working full-time; completing two master’s degrees and multiple technical certifications.

Becky was the epitome of unconditional love. She would do anything for anyone at anytime. She loved being a mother, being a teacher, and being a servant of God, but her greatest joy in life was being a grandma. Becky left the public school system in 1998 so that she could work for the Texas Youth Commission and teach children that needed someone that wouldn't give up on them. Her patience knew no limits and she loved helping students work through different levels of math and computer languages. After "retiring" from teaching, Becky spent several more years teaching at NCTC, becoming the e-learning Instructional Designer. She was also a partner in her husband's auto works shop.

Becky was a devoted Christian woman who believed in treating everyone with kindness. She will be remembered and missed by everyone who knew her.

Funeral services are scheduled for 5:00 PM on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville, with Wade Bower officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.  Committal services at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
