Funeral services for Betty Lou Colteryahn, 86, of Tioga, are set for 10:00 AM Saturday, May 30, 2020 at the Hibbit Baptist Church with Ben Willingham officiating. Burial will follow in the Hibbit Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the funeral at Hibbit Baptist Church.

Betty Lou was born on July 29, 1933 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Fred Walther and Lottie (Nordsiek) Walther. She passed away on May 25, 2020 in Denison.

Betty Lou was involved in the horse business for many years traveling, raising, and showing Quarter Horses.  She loved her Basset hounds, enjoyed painting, and getting together for holiday & birthday lunches with her longtime friends she had made while working in the office at Mervyn’s in Plano and later at Horse Insurance Specialists in Pilot Point.

She was a member of Hibbit Baptist Church for nearly 50 years. Betty was a sweet, kind, patient, and loving sister, mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother and a loyal and caring friend to so many. All that knew her loved her and she had many lifelong friends that were always in her heart. She loved spending time with all of her family and gathering for special occasions to have a meal and visit. These times with family were very special to her. She was so good about sending cards for every birthday, holiday or even just to stay in touch with everyone she knew. She was always just a phone call or a card away and always thinking of others.

She is survived by her son Keith Colteryahn and wife Jana of Sturgeon; son Kent Colteryahn and wife Vickie of Callisburg; daughter Leslie Greer of Callisburg; son Kevin Colteryahn and wife Trina of Tioga; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Carolyn Walther of Gainesville; nephew Charles Schultz and wife Elena of Florida; and great niece Rebecca Schultz of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents and former husband Earl Colteryahn.
