Betty Lou Henderson

A graveside service for Betty Lou Henderson, 94, of Gainesville, will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 6, 2023 in Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Robert Kelly officiating.

Mrs. Henderson passed away December 3, 2023 in Gainesville.  She was born August 20, 1929 in Gainesville, to Richard D. and Emma Lou (Bentley) Hurley.

Betty was a hard worker her entire life serving as a clerk at many retail stores around Gainesville.  She also spent half her working life as an apartment manager.  She loved to entertain, often hosting parties with friends and family.  She enjoyed playing cards and dominoes often.  She has been a member of Grand Ave. Baptist Church her entire life from the cradle roll, never changing her membership to another church.  She will be deeply missed by all those that knew her, especially her close friends and family.  She was always in a good mood and her smile was contagious.

Mrs. Henderson is survived by her daughter Donna Whitesides of Houston; nieces and nephews; very best friend Betty Boone.  Mrs. Henderson had adopted Mrs. Boone and her family as her very own loved ones.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leonard C. Henderson; son Michael Henderson in 2008; her siblings.
