Mrs. Copeland passed away Friday, July 12, 2019 in Greenville, TX.
Beulah was born in a little farm house, out in the country, near Pilot Point, TX to Fred & Mary Denison. She was raised and attended school in Sanger. Beulah married Sam Belz and was widowed at a young age. She later met the love of her life, David Copeland, and the two were married June 15, 1962 in Sanger. The couple moved to Gainesville, where Beulah remained for 49 years. In that time, she served the community in many capacities and built many friendships. Beulah had a love of fashion, driving her to work in the retail industry at Chapman’s for many years. She also spent time working as a nurse’s aide at Gainesville Memorial Hospital, assistant librarian at Gainesville Public Library, and in her retirement years, she enjoyed working as a “Granny” at Grandy’s. Mrs. Copeland was an avid square dancer with the Gainesville 49ers Square Dance Club. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and devoted member of The First Baptist Church in Gainesville, where she sang in the choir for many years. Above all else, Beulah treasured the time she was able to spend with family, particularly her grandchildren.
Survivors include: daughter Jill Kerr and husband Ralph of Flower Mound; son Mark Copeland and wife Mari of Port Aransas; grandchildren: April Fink and husband Justin, Marisa Copeland, and Mason Copeland; and sister Mary Lou McKay of Spur.
Mrs. Copeland was preceded in death by: parents Fred and Mary Denison; husband Sam Belz; husband David Copeland; son Rod Copeland; brothers: Fred Denison Jr., Tommy Denison, and Jim Denison; and sisters: Juanita Denison, Ruby Lee Sullivan, Jessie Marie Paul, and Helen Rindal.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
