Beverly Marie Snuggs

Beverly Marie Gossett Snuggs, 69, passed away in her home on Friday February 9, 2024.  She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Beverly was born on August 7, 1954, in Gainesville.  She was the 3rd of 7 children born to Milton and Thecla Popp Gossett of Lindsay, Tx.  Many will remember Beverly from the Gossett Family businesses of Cabell’s and Mr. M’s convenience store.  During the last 20 years you could find Bev working with her only son, Jason, at Cappuccino Carwash and G-Town Auto Sales.  She loved working with family and took great joy in the many friendships that she gained working with the public over the years.

Dedicating nearly 16 years to public service, Beverly served multiple terms on Gainesville City Council, served many years on both the Cooke County Appraisal District Board of Directors and the Gainesville EDC.  She took this service very seriously, serving with integrity and putting the community first.

Gammi was the favorite title Beverly ever earned.  Her only granddaughter, Addison (Addi), donned her with this treasured name.  Addi and Gammi grew stories of grand magnitude in their time together playing cards and negotiating prices in their make-believe grocery stores.  As Addi grew older, Gammi would rarely miss a sporting event or an opportunity to be a taxi service when called upon.  They both looked forward to and cherished their weekly “Gammi Time”.

Preceded in her death by her parents, Beverly is survived by her son Jason Snuggs and granddaughter Addison Snuggs, brothers Greg Gossett, Jimmy Gossett, Doug (MaQuita) Gossett, and John (Theresa) Gossett and her sisters Rita Flatt and Marge (Bob) Warren.  The memory of Beverly will be cherished by all who knew her.

On Friday, February 16 2024, a memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Deacon Gary Endres officiating.  A rosary, followed by a visitation, will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
