Billie Dale Thurman

March 14, 1934 — December 4, 2022

Billie Dale Thurman passed away on December 4, 2022 in Gainesville, Texas at the age of 88, with family by his side. He was born March 14, 1934 to Bill Vernon and Laura Bell (Ware) Thurman.  He attended Rad Ware Schools. After High School he went to work for National Supply.  Dale married Zona Mae Reynolds on January 14, 1969. After retirement, they spent their time farming and raising cattle on the family farm.

Dale is survived by sons:  Mike and daughter-in-law Wanda of Callisburg, Paul Thurman and daughter-in-law Pam of Whitesboro, James Thurman, and daughter LouAnn Dennis of Gainesville step-daughters:  Michele Skaggs of Kingston, OK, Gail Bilbay and son-in-law Ralph of Kingston, OK, Cynthia Hale of Gainesville.  He was blessed with numerous Grandkids, great-grandkids, great-great grandkids, and an abundance of nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; son David Thurman; step-sons Michael and Terry Skaggs; son-in-law Jimmy Hale; brother Jerry Thurman; grandsons Joe Thurman and Shawn Kvale.

Dale was a member of the Cooke County Cowboy Church.  He enjoyed camping, and spending time with his kids and grandkids.

A funeral service for Dale will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Chapel Pastor Jeff Shuckers officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
