Billy Ward Cunningham, 78, of Gainesville, passed away January 3, 2024 in Gainesville.

Billy was born September 20, 1945 in Gainesville.  He served in the U.S. Army and married Robbie Head on January 15, 1966 in Gainesville.  Mr. Cunningham farmed, ranched, and was a truck driver.  He was also owner/operator of Injun Creek Utilities Co.  Mr. Cunningham was instrumental in the founding of Woodbine Water and served on their Board for many years.  He was a member of Woodbine Baptist Church.

Mr. Cunningham was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Billie (Ware) Cunningham; and sister Hazel Perry.

Survivors include: wife Robbie Cunningham of Gainesville; daughter Lisa Mayes (fiancé Mike Newton) of Gainesville; grandchild Wacey Harp (wife Abigail); and great-grandchildren Myndi and Tatum Harp.

A graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 8, 2024, at Oak Grove Cemetery, Woodbine.  Arrangements are under the care of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Oak Grove Cemetery.  You may register your condolences at www.geojcarroll.com.
