After several months of declining health, on January 24, 2024, Bobbie Amis of Era, Texas, passed from this world. She was 88 years old. Celebration of Life will be held at the Prairie Point Church of Nazarene in Rosston, Texas on March 23, 2024. The Celebration of Life will start at 2pm.
Bobbie was born on April 30, 1935, in Montague, Texas. She was the daughter of Ray Kelley and Estelle Brown Kelley and a member of the Prairie Point Church of Nazarene in Rosston. On December 5, 1955 she married Thomas James Amis in Grand Prairie at the NAS chapel.
Bobbie worked as a Cafeteria Manager for Plano ISD for 18 years. She often wore a different brooch to school each day. She enjoyed making lap/crib quilts and attending craft fairs as a vendor. She had so many repeat customers that they would come to her home in Era, Texas to pick out quilts before her shows. She enjoyed traveling, camping, going to the casino and family dinners. Bobbie and her husband have travelled to almost every state. She lived in Hawaii while her husband was stationed there.
Bobbie is survived by her husband Tom Amis of 68 years; son Mark Amis of Era, Texas, daughter Charlene Amis of Era, Texas and daughter Stacey Daniel of Decatur, Texas; 6 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces and a nephew.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents; oldest son Michael; three brothers Jerry, Lanny and Raymon (Buck), her sister Monda Kelsey and Son in law Kevin Daniel.
