Carma Boaz

Funeral services for Carmelita Joyce “Carma” Boaz, 83, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Friday, December 20, 2019 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Kremling officiating.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 19 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Boaz passed away December 15, 2019 in Plano.

Carma was born October 19, 1936 in Gainesville to Walter Ervin and Ruby Hazel (McKinley) McKee.  She married James Adrian Boaz on November 12, 1950 in Iowa Park.  She was a ward clerk at Gainesville Memorial Hospital for many years, but was most successful as a homemaker, having raised five children and caring for many grandchildren.  She was a wonderful cook and homemaker, and enjoyed feeding her family.  In her free time, Mrs. Boaz enjoyed researching genealogy, camping, painting, and playing the piano.

Survivors include: daughter Debra Weaver and husband Keith of Gainesville; son Jim Boaz of Saguache, CO; son Tom Boaz and wife Wilma of Dye; daughter Kim Ward and husband Tracy of Bulcher; son Tim Boaz and wife Pam of Gainesville; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nephew Terry Turner; and niece Juanell Jones.

Mrs. Boaz was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Ruby McKee; husband of 62 years, James Adrian Boaz; sister Billie Magers; brother Buddy McKee; sister LaTeka Haas; and sister Pat McKee.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
