December 19, 1937 — June 11, 2022

Carol Ann Albro passed away in Denton, TX on June 11, 2022 at the age of 84.

A memorial service has been scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022, at First Baptist Church of Gainesville.

Carol was born and raised in the small West Texas town of Roscoe on December 19, 1937. She was the oldest of three daughters of Clifford and J. Verna Sanders. She met her husband of 66 years, Joe Albro while still in high school. They married and had three children together. Carol was a homemaker in the children’s younger years. She loved to paint and draw in her free time. Carol also spent time making homemade cakes with her long-time friend, Pat.

Carol opened Shady Oak Gallery on Gainesville’s courthouse square and there she provided beautiful artwork to many families in the town for over 20 years. She was famous for her shadowboxes. This talent she passed on to her daughter and granddaughter, who at one time all worked together with her in the shop. Carol was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Gainesville. She was one of the most giving, kind-hearted women you could ever find.

Survivors include: son Doug Albro and wife Darla of Decatur; granddaughter Kacie Methner and husband Cody of Sanger; great-grandsons Trevor and Cash; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Albro was preceded in death by: her husband Joe; daughter Sandy; son Mark; grandson Travis; parents; and sisters Marlene and Cheryl.
