Mass of Christian Burial for Carol Ann Heine, 75, of Denton, is scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Argyle with Fr. Baby George officiating. The burial service will be held at 11:45 AM in Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton. The rosary will begin at 9:30 AM, preceding the mass.

Mrs. Heine passed away on Good Friday, April 18, 2025 in Denton, with her family by her side. She was born in Guymon, OK to Robert Carl and Marian Charlotte (Pittaway) Bryan. A proud graduate of Goodwell High School, Carol was deeply involved in student life—she played basketball, sang in the choir, performed in the band (mastering several instruments), and served as the school’s bookkeeper.

After graduation, Carol attended Panhandle State University, where she pursued her love of music and met the love of her life, Richard Ralph Heine. She then transferred to Oklahoma State University where she worked as an accountant. She married Richard Heine in Stillwater, OK on January 28, 1971.

Carol and Richard traveled extensively, living in Littleton, CO, Missoula, MT, Sandy, UT, part-time in Nome, AK followed by Evergreen, CO and then settling in Denton. She worked in a variety of roles as an accountant and bookkeeper and also found great joy in serving as a tutor and trainer for English as a Second Language (ESL) programs in Salt Lake City. She guided countless students in learning to read and write English, always with patience and care.

Her love for learning continued throughout her life, and in 1994 she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology from the University of Utah. Later, she worked for the Office of Surface Mining at the Denver Federal Center until her retirement—a milestone she once swore she’d never reach, but one that ultimately gave her more time to spend with Richard and enjoy life’s simpler pleasures.

Carol was a voracious reader. She had a thirst for knowledge and always had a book in her hands. She possessed a kind and gentle soul. She truly never met a stranger she didn’t like and could carry on a conversation with anyone. She told everyone she met that her name was “Carol, like Christmas Carol,” a reflection of her joyful and generous spirit.

Living in the Robson Ranch community in Denton allowed Mrs. Heine to exercise her social talents. She was an active member of the Robson Ranch Yarn Divas; their hand-made creations are well known charitable gifts. She cherished participating in the stained-glass club and community garden but her true passion was for music. She loved participating in the Music Club Choir and their many performances. She is now a member of the Heavenly Choir.

Carol is survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard of Denton; son and daughter-in-law Robert Ralph. and Kellis Kelley Heine Magna, UT; brother and sister-in-law DeWayne and Sherrie Bryan of Liberal, KS; sister and brother-in-law Kay and George Sheets of Stillwater, OK.

Mrs. Heine was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Dormalee Bryan and brothers, Waldo Bryan and Ross Bryan.
