Carolyn Frey

Carolyn Leggett Frey passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Medical City Dallas Hospital. Carolyn was born on March 10, 1946 in Albuquerque, NM to Thomas L Leggett, Jr.  She was raised by her grandmother, Ethel Laura Finley Leggett, in Dublin, MS and she attended Clarksdale High School in Clarksdale, MS. Upon graduation from Clarksdale, Carolyn attended Delta State University where she met her husband and love of her life, Don Frey. She graduated from Delta State with a BS in Education in order to pursue a career in teaching.

Carolyn was a Certified Academic Language Therapist where she taught for 10+ years at special education schools. She loved her work, especially helping children learn to read. She was an amazing teacher and loved by her students and fellow teachers.  Carolyn also had incredible artistic talent and she spent a lot of her time painting. She created the most beautiful artwork. She also loved to be with family and she enjoyed being able to spend quality time with her loved ones and her dogs. Carolyn was a joy to be around and was adored by all.

She is survived by her husband Don, her daughter, Valeri Frey Wickersham and son, Michael Ryan Frey. She also had three siblings, Doug Leggett, Brad Leggett and Lexi Davis and two amazing grandchildren, Victoria Grace Wickersham and Wyatt Finley Frey.

We will miss you. We love you. You are our wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, friend, fighter and our hero. You have touched a place in so many hearts, and we will cherish you always.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Carolyn on Saturday, May 18, 2024, from 1:00 - 4:00pm cst at The Tribute, 1000 Lebanon Rd., The Colony, TX 75056. Please RSVP to a member of the immediate family if you plan to attend. Come and go as you like.
