Carolyn Sue Hassell

Funeral services for Carolyn Boley Hassell, 85, of Callisburg, will be held at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral home at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 24, 2024 with Rev. Roslyn Eugster officiating.  Burial will follow in Callisburg cemetery.  A visitation is scheduled for 9:00 AM on Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hassell was born June 4, 1939 in Callisburg to Weldon Willard and Ruby Sue (Crawford) Boley.  She married Dale Hassell in the First Christian Church Gainesville 50 years ago.  She graduated from North Texas State University with a Masters in Education and has taught in the area for over 40 years.  She’s been a long-time member of Callisburg Methodist Church.  She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers Sorority, Texas State Teachers Association, and Cooke County Retired Teachers Association.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Dale Hassell of Callisburg; son and daughter-in-law Chris and Heather Hassell of Orlando, FL; granddaughters Erin and Morgan; sister Peggy Peel of San Antonio; brother and sister-in-law Jack and Joyce Boley of Midland; brother and sister-in-law Richard and Jo Boley of Lincoln, CA.

Mrs. Hassell was preceded in death by her parents; sister Elizabeth Mendenhall; sister Betty Henderson; brother-in-law Bob Henderson; brother-in-law Dr. Thomas Peel.
