Celia Chavez Hernandez

Funeral service for Celia Chavez Hernandez, 72, of Gainesville, is set for 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. John Pacheco officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Celia was born on March 8, 1946 in Mexico to Demesio Chavez and Paula Perez Chavez. She passed away on October 19, 2018 in Denton.

Celia is survived by her son Gumercindo Hernandez and wife Cindy; daughter Josefina H. Gonzalez and husband Juan; daughter Paulina Hernandez and husband Venito; daughter Marua Hernandez and husband Carlo; son Concepcion Hernandez and wife Lazara; son Rufino Hernandez; son Diego Hernandez and wife Juana; daughter Veronica Hernandez and husband Ezequiel; daughter Gracila Hernendez and husband Romo; son Juan Menuel Hernandez and wife Jennifer; 33 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Delfina, Socorro, and Margarita; and brothers Monico, Wuenseslao, Lusio, Maximino, and Gabriel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and granddaughter Joanna Romo.
