Charles E. “Hank” Hankins

Charles E. “Hank” Hankins, 88, of Gainesville, passed away February 21, 2023 in Gainesville.

Hank was born May 21, 1934 in Silo, OK.  He married the love of his life, Joyce Cunningham, on May 17, 1957 in Ferris, TX.  Mr. Hankins then served four years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Frankfurt, Germany.  He spent 38 years with Lonestar Gas, retiring as a manager.  Mr. Hankins also served as a Deputy Constable in Dallas County.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting, participating in his car club, and traveling, especially to Ireland.  Mr. Hankins was an active member of the Church of Christ.

Mr. Hankins was preceded in death by: parents Charley and Zula (Ridens) Hankins; nephew Jeff Hill; and nephew Pat Hill.

Survivors include: wife Joyce Lynn Hankins of Gainesville; sister Ruby Hill of Argyle; nieces Glenda Stephen, Vicky McManus, Millie Goss, and Sherri Shguit; Mary Salisbury; and an abundance of other beloved relatives.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2023 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.  A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 25 at the funeral home chapel.
