Charles David Reynolds, 83, of Whitesboro, passed away September 2, 2021 in Sherman.
Charles was born December 23, 1937 in Birmingham, AL. He met the love of his life, Nancy Ruth Atkins, at Boles Home in Quinlan, TX and the two were married August 5, 1956 in Yuma, AZ. Mr. Reynolds enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 and served 24 years until his retirement in 1979. An extremely patriotic man, Mr. Reynolds was very proud of his time in the Navy. He held many jobs during his service, specializing in electronics, and instructing. He loved being a teacher, continuing by teaching Adult Bible classes at church in later years. In his leisure time, he could often be found working on a car or maintaining his landscaping. Mr. Reynolds was deeply loved and will be missed.
Survivors include: wife of 65 years, Nancy Ruth Reynolds of Whitesboro; daughter, Davina Thompson and husband, Ted of Bella Vista, AR; daughter, Kristi Reynolds Scott and husband, John of Winslow, AR; six grandchildren: Kyndra Bryant, David Ben Rance, Megan Sullivan, Charles David Reynolds III, Clayton Scott, and Garett Scott; four great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Sonny Atkins and wife, Ruby of Lake Kiowa; brother-in-law, Johnny Atkins and wife, Linda of Marietta, OK; and brother-in-law, Carl Pommerening of Lake Kiowa.
Mr. Reynolds was preceded in death by: mother, Annie Lou Reynolds; son, Charles David Reynolds, Jr.; sister, Anna Pommerening; and brother-in-law, Buddy Atkins.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at North Union Street Church of Christ in Whitesboro.
