Christopher Allen Wayne Mitchuson

Christopher Allen Wayne Mitchuson, 32, of Gainesville, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 12, 2023.

Chris was born April 26, 1990 in Denton to Saundra Walls and Larry Mitchuson.  Chris was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.  He was a jack-of-all-trades who enjoyed working outside.  Chris worked asphalt for many years.  He loved spending time with his family and friends.  Chris also loved hunting, fishing, watching football, and coaching his son’s football team.

Chris was preceded in death by: grandparents Larry Bowling and George W. Mitchuson; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Chris leaves behind to cherish his memory: wife Xiemena Johnston of Gainesville; daughter McKenna Mitchuson; son Jacob Mitchuson; son Mathiaus Mitchuson; son Lakota Mitchuson; mother Saundra Walls; father Larry Mitchuson; grandmother Katherine Bowling; grandmother Barbra Mitchuson; sister Brittany Ward; nephew Thomas Ward; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

A funeral service, with military honors and Kevin Walton officiating, is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at noon prior to the service.
