Chuck Rucks

Funeral services for Lawrence Edward “Chuck” Rucks, 63, of Mountain Springs, are scheduled for 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, September 13 at the funeral home.

Mr. Rucks passed away September 7, 2019 in Plano.

Chuck was born May 6, 1956 in Dallas to Homer “Skeet” and Virginia (Kimbrell) Rucks.  He attended school in Seagoville, and it was there he married Janet Champion in May of 1976.  Mr. Rucks spent 23 years as a supervisor with Alan Ritchey Inc., and most recently, worked at WinStar Casino.  An avid outdoorsman, he would often seek out opportunities to go fishing, and also enjoyed hunting, farming, and caring for his dogs.  Most of all, Chuck enjoyed spending time with family.

Survivors include: wife Janet Rucks of Mountain Springs; daughter Lisa Spikes and husband Thomas of Mountain Springs; daughter Kay Rucks and husband Preston of Mountain Springs; son Dustin Rucks and wife Rebekah of Aubrey; grandchildren: Jessica Coder and Bethany Coder; brother David Rucks of Dallas; brother Michael Rucks of California; mother-in-law Melba Champion of Mountain Springs; brother-in-law Richard Champion and wife Sandra of Mountain Springs; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Mr. Rucks was preceded in death by: parents Homer “Skeet” and Virginia Rucks; brother Homer Rucks; and father-in-law Curly Champion.
