Conova “Connie” Sanders, 89, of Gainesville, passed away August 15, 2023 in Gainesville.

Connie was born August 4, 1934 in Ryan, OK.  As she was growing up she spent time in Stoneburg, TX, Denton, TX, and Gainesville, TX, before graduating from Valley View High School.  Most will remember Miss Connie from the 22 years she spent at Wal-Mart, retiring as a personnel manager.  In retirement, she enjoyed gambling and traveling.

Survivors include: son Gene Henry (Monica) of Mountain Springs; daughter Vickie Henry of Lone Grove, OK; grandchildren Noble Nottingham, Doug Bruce (Brandi), Eric Bruce, Gina Henry, and Amanda Webster; 12 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by: parents Berry and Jessie Ritchie; husband Almer Jack Sanders; husband Alvin Ray Henry; two sisters; and seven brothers.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 18, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville.  A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, in the funeral home Chapel.  Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery, Mountain Springs.
