Funeral services for Curley Champion, 81, of Gainesville, are set for 2:00 PM Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Hollis Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 PM.
Curley was born on October 31, 1937 in Marshall, Texas. He passed away on February 11, 2019 in Gainesville.
Curley is survived by his wife Melba (Lynch) Champion of Gainesville; daughter Janet Rucks and her husband Chuck of Gainesville; son Richard Champion and his wife Sandra of Gainesville; grandchildren Lisa Spikes and husband Ashley, Kay Coder and Preston Emert, Dean Champion and wife Valorie, Emily Howard and husband James, Mamie Butcher and husband Adam, Dustin Rucks; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by nine siblings and one great-grandson.
