Dave Province

A memorial visitation for David Earl Province, 78, of Gainesville, is scheduled for 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.  Inurnment will take place at a later date at Lamine Cemetery in Lamine, MO.

Mr. Province passed away May 31, 2018 in Denton.

Dave was born March 30, 1940 in Marshall, MO to Wallace and Margaret (Thompson) Province.  He served in the United States Marine Corps, receiving an honorable discharge.  He then found law enforcement to be a suitable place, working in the prison system in Arizona, the Muenster Police Department, and the Cooke County Sheriff Department.  Dave retired in 2008 as the Cooke County Jail Administrator, a position he held for 23 years.

Survivors include: wife Debra Province of Gainesville; daughter Judy Bell and husband Michael Meyer of Rolla, MO; daughter Kristin Ricker and husband Jason of Gainesville; grandchildren: Lori, Mary, Michael, Sherri, Samantha, Serenity, and Elizabeth; 15 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Province was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter Linda Greene; grandchildren: Bobby and Abigail; and great-grandson Justin.
