Dave Weems

Dave Weems, 65, of Gainesville passed away November 27, 2020 in Decatur.

Dave was born August 10, 1955 in Gainesville to Woodrow Wilson and Katherine Jeanneau (Powell) Weems.  He enjoyed his career as a Registered Nurse.  He was also a Mason and Shriner, and had completed many degrees and certifications.  Mr. Weems was a huge football fan and supporter of the Gainesville Leopards and Dallas Cowboys.  A member of First Baptist Church, he loved attending services and singing in the choir.  Mr. Weems was a talented musician, playing the drums and piano.  The family will most remember “Pawpaw” for his glowing personality and unending love.  He was truly a “people-person” and treasured the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include: daughter, Cammie Weems of Gainesville; granddaughter, Tylor Lee and father of the children, Justin Widener of Gainesville; great-grandchildren: Landen, Kaden, Tristen, and Masen; brother, Jimmie Weems; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to Scottish Rite for Children.

Funeral services for Dave Linn Weems, 65, of Gainesville, are set for 11:00 AM Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Dr. Jeff Langley officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A private burial will take place at a later date.
