Deborah Jean Colwell

Deborah Jean Colwell, 69, died October 30, 2023 in her home in Gainesville.  She was born December 3, 1953 in Fort Worth, to Eldon O. and Cristal Agnes (Giles) Hackett.

Deborah married Chester William Colwell on April 19, 1969 and from this union, they had three children:  William Bailey Colwell, Jonathan Eugene Colwell, and Cristal Suzanne Figueroa.

Mrs. Colwell attended nursing school and eventually worked at Kaiser Permanente in Fontana, CA, and upon retirement, moved back to Gainesville.

Deborah leaves behind her husband, three children, thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, son-in-law, and many relatives and friends, including her best friends since Junior High, Jan and Bobby Robeson.

Mrs. Colwell was always the hardest worker.  She spent a lot of time keeping up her farm and making sure her grandchildren were taken care of.  Her priority was always her family.  She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Chapel with Bro. Arthur Green officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.  A visitation is scheduled for Monday at 6:00 PM.
