Delbert Lee Burt

Delbert Lee Burt, 90, of Gainesville, passed away May 9, 2022 in Denton.

Delbert was born March 30, 1932 in Clay County, TX.  Following school, he served in the U.S. Army.  Mr. Burt married Patsy Sudduth on September 6, 1952 in Lovington, New Mexico.  He retired from Weber Aircraft following 31 years of employment as an assembler and machinist.  Mr. Burt enjoyed landscaping and was a skilled woodworker.  He was a devoted Christian and faithful member of Grace Friendship Baptist Church.

Mr. Burt was preceded in death by: wife Patsy Burt; parents Jim and Ruby (MacNabb) Burt; brother Jimmy Burt; and sister Wanda Jones.

Survivors include: son Rick Burt and wife Deborah of Denton; son Ed Burt and wife Diane of Gainesville; grandchildren: Emilee, Hannah, and Sera; great-granddaughter Haylee; and several siblings.

A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Friendship Baptist Church.
