Diane Dawn Beckmann, 60, of Gainesville, TX, passed away December 21, 2024, in Denison, TX after a courageous battle with cancer.
Diane was born October 21,1964 in North Platte, NE. She participated in 4-H from an early age and began cultivating her lifelong love for horses. Diane was crowned Sutherland Rodeo Queen in 1980 and graduated from North Platte High School (NE) in 1983. She moved to the North Texas area in the early 2000’s to pursue her careers in horse breeding and healthcare. She graduated from North Central Texas College and worked at Nocona General Hospital as a Registered Nurse.
Diane's was a name spoken with reverence across the equine world, though she never sought the spotlight. Quiet and unassuming, she left an indelible mark on the reining industry and set a standard for excellence that continues to inspire. Her incredible gift for recognizing greatness in broodmares and nurturing generations of champions is a legacy that will live on forever.
Diane was preceded in death by her mother, Jeanie (Irvine) Beckmann, father, Don Beckmann, stepbrother and brother-in-law Chris Jarvis and Larry Kuhlmann. And her loyal dog Champ.
Survivors include: brother Doug Beckmann and wife Deb of North Platte, NE; brother Dale Beckmann and wife Terri of Englewood, FL; niece Jacque Stittle and husband Jeff; nephew Donnie Beckmann; and great-niece and great-nephews Spencer, Cora, Ben, and Calvin. Stepfamily Lynette Beckmann, Char Kuhlmann, Shayna, Russell, Scarlett and Wyatt, Natasha, Crue, Ridyr and Olyvia, Dustin, Audrey and Dylan, and JJ all of North Platte, Cody, Jamie, Eliot and June of TN. Aunt Lois Beckmann of North Platte and Bob Irvine of Grand Island, and numerous cousins and friends.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville, TX.
