Don Metler

Donald Louis Metler, 80, long-time resident of Pahrump, NV, most recently of Gainesville, TX, passed away January 12, 2019 in Gainesville.

Don was born January 17, 1938 in Spokane, WA to Frank Louis and Dorothy Carol (Clough) Metler.  He married Dana Lynn Heiskell in Las Vegas, NV on December 31, 1981.  Mr. Metler spent his entire career as a core driller of precious metals.  He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Pahrump since the 1980s.  Mr. Metler was a firearms enthusiast and avid outdoorsman.  He was a proud lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and an associate member of the NRA – Institute for Legislative Action.

Survivors include: wife Dana Metler of Gainesville; son William Louis Metler; daughter Debbie Pierce and husband Dan of Parker, CO; son Daniel Metler and wife Cheri of Pahrump; son Ronald Garren of Lovelock, NV; son Randy Garren and wife Darla of Gainesville; son Artie Garren and wife Erin of Neosho, MO; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and sister Shirley Foley of Evergreen, CO.

Mr. Metler was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
