Don Roff

Graveside services for Donald G. Roff, 83, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Eastland Cemetery in Eastland, TX.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:30 PM on Monday, August 26 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mr. Roff passed away August 23, 2019 in Dallas.

Don was born December 1, 1935 in Gorman, TX, the only child of Sidney M. and Lula Estelle (Clement) Roff.  He was active in sports and was a very popular student in the 1953 Class of Eastland High School.  He received a Bachelor’s Degree from North Texas State University, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha.  Mr. Roff married Jeanette Caton on March 15, 1958 in Eastland, TX.  He was proud of his service in the U.S. Marine Corps.  Mr. Roff was a manager in sales and distribution for Texaco for many years.  Upon leaving Texaco, Mr. Roff became the owner and operator of a Texaco distributorship in Altus, OK for 22 years.  He was an avid fan of University of Oklahoma football and, as a member of First Baptist Church in Gainesville, was part of the Young at Heart Sunday School Class.

Survivors include: wife of 61 years, Jeanette Roff of Gainesville; daughter Beverly Mullen and husband Chris of Tulsa; daughter Paula Muncy and husband Ken of Allen; daughter Debra Fleck of Omaha, NE; and grandchildren: Paul Stark and wife Dallas, Colin Fleck, and Sydney Fleck.

Mr. Roff was preceded in death by his parents.
