Dutchie was elected school board member for Gainesville School board several times and he was a member of the Gainesville Optimist Club and Whaley United Methodist Church.
Dutchie rode motorcycles as a hobby and had a wood shop and could build or fix anything. He treated everyone he ever met all the same no matter their station in life and never met an enemy.
Dutchie is preceded in death by Shirley Horn, Pete and Helen Horn, as well as many of his brother and sister in-laws he counted as family, and his beloved dog Molly.
He is survived by Sue Dishman of Lindsay, his daughter's Pam Horn Russell of Gainesville and Debbie and Andre Olivas of Big Spring, Texas. His granddaughter, Holli Russell of Callisburg, his grandson, Pete Russell and C.J. Cantrell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and his great-grandson Lance Perry of Callisburg, along with many nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are: Darryl Russell, D.J. Cantrell, Lance Perry, Pete Russell, Bryce Medelline, Matthew Poe.
Memorial contributions may be made to Home Hospice of Cooke, Grayson, and Fannin Counties.
