Earl R. Hughes

Earl was born on May 18, 1933 in Love County, Oklahoma to Arthur Hughes and Helen May (Stephens) Hughes. He passed away on December 14, 2018 in Gainesville.

Earl was employed by A.M.P.I. and D.F.A. before retiring after more than 45 years of transporting milk from the local dairies to the Dallas/ Fort Worth area. After retiring, he enjoyed working with wood and metal. He could fabricate, build, or fix anything until he started having problems as a result of Alzheimer's disease.

Earl is survived by his wife Elaine (Gilbert) Hughes of Gainesville; son Jimmy Hughes and wife Denise of Denison; son Steve Hughes and wife Lisa of Sherman; son Billy Hughes of Sherman; son Bradley Hughes of Era; grandchildren Sarabeth Hughes, Jennifer Hughes, Cody Hughes, Casey Hughes, Evin Hughes, and John Michael Russell. He is also survived by his sister Ada Belle Ramsey of Terrell, OK; and sister Inez Crawford of Ryan, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Houston Hughes; brother Riley Hughes; brother Grady Hughes; sister Grace Bruce; sister Ruby Thurman; sister Carri Miliken; and granddaughter Brilyn Hughes.
