Edward Charles Hinkle, 86, of Gainesville, passed away July 5, 2024 in Gainesville.
Ed was born March 12, 1938 in Camden, NJ. He was raised in New Jersey and graduated from high school in Collingswood. He served in the U.S. Air Force and later received an Associates of Science degree at Cooke County College. He was the Owner/Operator of Hinco Printing Co. for many years. Mr. Hinkle’s other accomplishments and contributions consist of: President of the Gainesville Rotary Club, vice-president of the Gainesville Boy’s Club, President of the Gainesville Athletics Booster Club, President of the Grayson County Humane Society, founder of the Texoma American Pit Bull Terrier Club, an International Dog Show Judge, and many other awards from the American Dog Breeders Association.
Mr. Hinkle was preceded in death by: parents Edward and Edith (Albright) Hinkle; and wife Jeanne Hinkle.
Mr. Hinkle is survived by: son Gary Hinkle and wife Brenda of Gainesville; daughter Sheryl Tooley and husband Van of Ozark, AR; son Darryl Hinkle and wife Missy of Gainesville; grandchildren Van Tooley, Jr. and wife Rashelle of Layton, UT, Nathan Tooley and wife Brittany of Mulberry, AR, Jeremy Hinkle and wife Jaidee of Gainesville, Jayce Hinkle of Gainesville, Cassey Cooley and husband Daniel of Aledo, and Hayden Hinkle of Gainesville; great-grandchildren: Nathaniel Tooley of Layton, UT, Jacén Tooley of Layton, UT, Garret McKinney and wife Alex of Layton, UT, Brody Hinkle of Gainesville, Adaline Cooley of Aledo, and Ella Jean Tooley of Mulberry, AR; great-great-grandchild Nova McKinney of Layton, UT; and brother Rev. Robert Hinkle and wife Patti of Groveland, FL.
Serving as pallbearers are: Van Tooley, Jr., N.D. Tooley, Nathan Tooley, Bradly Ferguson, Charlie Scott, Terry Hall, and Jayce Hinkle.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville. A funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 8 in the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Chapel. A committal service will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville.
