Eddie "Chic" Richard Shugart

Funeral services for Eddie "Chic" Richard Shugart, 81, of Gainesville, is set for 10:00 AM Monday, April 29, 2019 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Bates officiating. Burial will follow in the Sharrock Cemetery in Walnut Bend. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 6:00 - 7:00 PM.

Chic was born on November 20, 1937 in Turkey, TX to Malcolm Eddie Shugart and Vera Ruth (Carroll) Shugart. He passed away on April 24, 2019 in Denison.

He is survived by his wife Barbara M. Shugart of Callisburg; daughter Vicky Hamilton and her husband Bobby of Walnut Bend; son Steve Shugart and his wife Ann of Walnut Bend; son David Shugart and his wife Kathy of Callisburg; daughter Tammy Bates and her husband Paul of Bowie; son Glenn Shugart of Walnut Bend; 18 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother L.P. Shugart of Plainview; and brother J.T. Shugart of Alvin.

Chic was preceded in death by his parents; sister Mary Ramola Shugart; brother Ted Shugart; brother Harold Shugart.
