Edward Albert Dewey

Edward Albert Dewey , 72 , of Gainesville , Texas passed away April 6, 2025 at his home in Gainesville , Texas, surrounded by loved ones . He was born on July 31, 1952 in Alice, Texas to William and Margie (White) Dewey .

Edward joined the Navy where he went in to the Seabees at only 17 years old. He married the love of his life, Carmen Threadgill on June 24, 1972 and they went on to have three sons together. Edward attended church at House of Prayer Church of Gainesville Texas. He enjoyed fishing, the guitar and music.

Edward is survived by his wife, Carmen (Threadgill) Dewey, son Chad Dewey (Maida) and their children; Tarek and Nabila, son Lance Dewey and his children; Jayda, Jenna and Jewell, and son Derek Dewey (Morgan) and their children; Dylan (Stormi), Skyler, Eddie, Bailey, Emilyn, Slayde and two great grandchildren Winter and Summer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Vernice Allan Dewey and sister Denise Ozell Tatum.

A Graveside Service for Mr. Dewey is scheduled for Friday, April 11, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery of Gainesville, Texas with Rev. Hollis Parsons officiating.
