Edward R. Gipson

Edward R. Gipson, known as “Hoot” passed away October 9, 2018.

“Hoot” was born in Oklahoma City on August 17, 1929.  He went to Central H. S. in Oklahoma City and attended Tulane University where he played football.  He then entered the US Navy in 1950 where served on the USS Sablo submarine and also played football, playing in the Hula Bowl.  Hoot later worked as Executive Vice President at Centennial Liquor Stores for 25 years.

Hoot is survived by his wife Linda Keeney Gipson; his five children Danny, Cathy, Patricia, Christian, and Robin; his 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Edward R. “Hoot” Gipson, 89, of Lake Kiowa, are set for 2:00 PM Sunday, October 14, 2018 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Kremling officiating.  Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.
