Edward Richard Glenn, of Gainesville, TX, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on May 28, 2019.
He was preceded in death by his infant son Richard Edward Glenn, his daughter Yellita Sue “Susan” Glenn, and his eight siblings: Joseph Albert Glenn, William Stanley “Dude” Glenn, Eva Mae Glenn, Noble Madison Glenn, Jr., Anna Bernice Glenn Coursey, Dorothy Edna Glenn Poehnelt, John Wallace “J.W.” Glenn, and Robert Louis Glenn.
Survivors include: wife Anna Stewart Glenn and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Mr. Glenn was in the U.S. Navy on sea duty during World War II, serving in the Asiatic Pacific area. He was a member of the New Mexico Pipe Trades and Refrigeration Local #412 for over 50 years. Edward and Anna were long-time members of Mission United Methodist Church in Gainesville and recently joined Callisburg United Methodist Church. Edward will be inurned at the Angus Cemetery in Angus, New Mexico.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville with Rev. Roslyn Eugster and Rev. Linda Baggett officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider making a memorial contribution to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
