Elvin Gray

A memorial service for Marvin “Elvin” Gray, 93, of Walnut Bend, is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mr. Gray passed away at his home in Walnut Bend on November 14, 2019.

Elvin was born February 13, 1926 in Cement, OK to Marvin Herbert and Julia Ann (Brown) Gray.  He was in the U.S. Army for four years, serving in the Philippines.  During his working career, Mr. Gray was a farmer, rancher, truck driver, and oil field hand.  His true love was working outdoors with his family, maintaining their garden and fruit trees, and hunting and fishing.

Survivors include: daughter Catherine Godbee and husband Phillip of Falkville, AL; son Robert Gray of Callisburg; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Mr. Gray was preceded in death by: his parents; wife Norma Lee Gray; daughter Betty Gray; daughter Jeanne Holloway; daughter Darlene Brown; son John Gray; sister Geneva Miller; brother Mart Gray; brother Kenneth Gray; brother Richard Gray; and brother George Gray.
