William Eugene Fuhrmann, 75, of Gainesville, passed away September 14, 2023 in Denton.
Eugene was born July 17, 1948 and was raised in Gainesville. He graduated from Gainesville High School and attended college in Denton. Mr. Fuhrmann served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He spent his career in the oil field business and was most recently a consultant. Mr. Fuhrmann enjoyed fishing and “exploring” with his great-grandchildren.
Survivors include: long-time companion Sara Williams Dozier of Gainesville; sister Brenda Price (Anthony) of Gordonville; sister Sandra Jones of Calera, OK; sister Linda Goowin of Jacksonville, FL; brother Dennis Fuhrmann (Violet) of Sanger; sister Judy Reidy of Corpus Christi; numerous nieces and nephews; and extended family Kris Williams (Alex), Buryl Norris (Diana), Brittany Holmes (Nate), Billy Norris, Ember Hinkley, Reagan Holmes, Raylan Norris, and Natalie Holmes.
Mr. Fuhrmann was preceded in death by: parents William Joseph and Imogene Catherine (Bezner) Fuhrmann; brother Larry Fuhrmann; brother-in-law Carl Jones; and brother-in-law Joe Goowin.
Serving as pallbearers are: Brad Williams, Buryl Norris, Scott Goldsmith, Tommy Goldsmith, Glen Hacker, and Joel Hendry.
A funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 18, 2023, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Lindsay.
Memorial contributions may be made to Home Hospice of Cooke County.
