The Mass of Christian Burial for Eugene Joseph Muzny, 93, of Lindsay, is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Fr. Matthew Tatyrek officiating. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 3 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
Mr. Muzny passed away February 27, 2020 at his home in Lindsay, TX.
Eugene was born on January 24, 1927 to John Julius Muzny and Albina Louise Piter in Prague, OK. He was baptized on March 13, 1927 at St. Wenceslaus Church in Prague OK. Eugene enlisted in the Army on November 10, 1945 and was honorably discharged on April 4, 1947. Following his military service, he worked in the oil field most of his life. In Prague, he met Doris Jean Page and they later married on December 25, 1947. They had three children together and were married for the 56 years. Eugene was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lindsay, TX.
Eugene was the heart of his family. To so many people, he was the sweetest man. He loved for the family to come over for holidays, family gatherings and his birthday in Lindsay, TX. He loved being outside and had the best vegetable garden. He was loved by all and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include: daughter Cynthia Wilborn of Valley View; daughter Terrie Seyler and husband Paul of Gainesville; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister Anna Mae Conner of Fort Worth; brother Lawrence Muzny of Shawnee, OK; and brother-in-law Ronnie Page of Prague, OK.
Mr. Muzny was preceded in death by: parents John Julius and Albina Louis (Piter) Muzny; wife Doris Jean Muzny; son Gary Muzny; sister Ella Greer; brother Henry Muzny; and brother John Muzny.
Mr. Muzny’s grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
