Eva Scott Kellogg

Graveside services for Eva Scott Kellogg, 84 of Gainesville, are set for 10:00 AM Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the Era Cemetery, with Pastor Daniel Jones officiating.

Mrs. Kellogg passed away on August 9, 2023, at the North Texas Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

Eva was born January 4, 1939, in the Mossville/Fish Creek Community to Lester and Mary V. Branyan Scott, raised in Era where she graduated from High School in 1957, later receiving an Associate’s Degree from Cooke County Junior College (now NCTC).

On August 4, 1962, Eva married Erle Kellogg of Dallas in the old Whaley Methodist Church in Gainesville.  For some 30 plus years they resided in Houston where Erle was a consulting petroleum engineer at B.P Huddleston, Inc. where Eva worked alongside him for several years before retiring to Irving.

Survivors include her daughter Carrie Kellogg of Carrollton; brother Archie Maurice Scott of Pottsboro; sister-in-law Lynn Scott Peters of Era; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Kellogg was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Ellen Scott Sherrill, Omie Scott Sherrill, and Joyce Scott Bentley; brothers Harlan Scott, Hulen Scott, and Glenn Scott.

The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, August 11, at the funeral home.
