Evelyn Ann Cameron passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025, in Gainesville, Texas, at the age of 73. Born on October 2, 1951, in Snyder, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of Charlie and Anna Land.
A talented and dedicated music teacher, Evelyn spent her life sharing the beauty of music with others. Her passion for teaching and her gentle spirit inspired countless students over the years. Evelyn’s kindness and warmth left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had a deep love for animals and cherished her role as an aunt, forming special bonds with her nieces and nephews that brought her immense joy.
On June 29, 1985, Evelyn married Lawrence (Larry) Cameron, with whom she shared many happy years filled with love and devotion. Their relationship was a testament to their unwavering commitment to one another. Evelyn is now reunited with Larry in eternal peace. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Hugh Land Sr. and Anna Margaret Land.
Evelyn will be lovingly remembered by her siblings: Charlie Land Jr. and wife Patti of Gainesville, TX; Robyn Nantze and husband Sam of Denton, TX; Jonathan Land and wife Linda of Flower Mound, TX; brother-in-law Kennard Johnston of Canton, MI; sisters-in-law Connie McKinney and husband Larry of New Hudson, MI; Patty Ward and husband Hunter of Houston, TX; along with numerous nieces and nephews who held her dear to their hearts.
Evelyn’s legacy of compassion and dedication will forever resonate in the lives she touched through music and love. May she rest in God’s eternal grace alongside those who went before her.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home located at 602 S. Lindsay Street, Gainesville, Texas, 76240. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
