Florence Carolyn Stolze Walther

Florence Carolyn Stolze Walther, passed to be with her Lord on February 5, 2025, while residing at Wesley House Assisted Living, Gainesville, Texas. A celebration service will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Hibbitt Baptist Church, starting with visitation at 1:00 p.m. and service at 2:00 p.m. Graveside service will follow in the adjacent Hibbitt Cemetery. Funeral arrangements will be under the direction of George J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville, Texas, with Pastor Ben Willingham, officiating.

Carolyn (Auntie Flo) was born March 30, 1935, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Predeceased by her parents, Fred and Lottie Walther, and her dear sister, Betty Lou Walther Colteryahn.

She was blessed with two loving husbands. Clyde M. Stolze, married on January 3, 1970, who passed on June 16, 1983, and Dr. Lewis H. Walther, married on September 15, 2007, who passed on February 11, 2017.

Carolyn spent her career working with her husband, Clyde, operating their western store and on oil pipelines for Majestic-Wiley in New Mexico, West Texas, Teague, Texas and Wyoming, in the early 80's; her nephew Kevin joined the same company and worked with him as well. Clyde also worked for the Arco Pipeline Company until his passing. She then worked as office manager of the Donna G. Doty CPA firm for twenty-five years, until her retirement in 2007 to wed her husband, Lewis, in New York.

Carolyn was a born again Christian and longtime member of Hibbitt Baptist Church. She donated to many Christian based organizations and as an avid cat lover, to the local Noah's Ark Animal Shelter, in honor of her cherished companion sister cats, Willie and Pepper.

Carolyn is survived by her dear niece, Leslie Colteryahn Greer of Callisburg and nephews, Keith Colteryahn (Jana) of Sturgeon, Kent Colteryahn (Vickie) of Callisburg and Kevin Colteryahn (Trina) of Tioga.
