Francisco "Pancho" Garcia

Francisco Garcia-Perez, affectionately known as “Pancho”, passed away August 16, 2021 in San Antonio.

Francisco was born October 10, 1959 in Tula, Tamaulipas, Mexico.  A hard-working man, Mr. Garcia was employed at various times as a mechanic, at Gainesville Foundry, in construction, in natural gas construction, and a landscaping company with his brother, Zenon.  In his leisure time, he enjoyed working on cars and maintaining his home and yard.  He loved returning home to Mexico as often as he was able to visit family.

Survivors include: wife, Petra Garcia of Gainesville; son, Mario Garcia and wife, Yadira of Gainesville; son, Jaime Garcia and wife, Audelia of Gainesville; son, Francisco Garcia, Jr. and partner, Belinda Bush of Gainesville; son, Jesus Garcia and wife, Yesenia Saenz of Gainesville; daughter, Ruth Olvera and husband, Ramiro of Gainesville; son, Fernando Garcia and wife, Veky Olvera of Gainesville; 21 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; parents, Santiago and Anastacia (Perez) Garcia of Mexico; brother, Zenon Garcia and wife, Graciela of Denison; brother, Monico Garcia and wife, Manuela Aguilar of Mexico; sister, Lorenza Menjivar and husband, Rene of Sherman; sister, Isabel Juarez of Sherman; sister, Leonor Puente and husband, Refugio of Gainesville; sister, Elena Garcia of Sherman; sister, Adelaida Garcia of Mexico; sister, Nelida Cuevas and husband, Juan of Sherman; and sister, Amparo Medina and husband, Juan of Gainesville.

Mr. Garcia was preceded in death by: brother-in-law, Roland Juarez; and niece, Maria Puente.

A Rosary service will begin at 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Dn. Gelasio Garcia officiating.  The family will receive friends at 6:30 P.M. following the Rosary.  A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 20, 2021, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. John Pacheco officiating.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
